“To casual observers she appeared idle,
lazy even, but her level of lethargy was directly
related to the intensity of the battle raging within.”

This piece is ridiculously tall
so I had to make it pretty small
to fit here.

Little Gesture

Two posts in one day is pretty amazing for me, but hey, I’m on a roll. I just wanted to share the glorified post-it note piece I made last night to give to a friend this morning.

I took a little pen & ink drawing on a post-it note and put it in a small frame with the glass removed and added some paint to both the drawing and the frame, then put it all back together and tied it with a ribbon. I really enjoyed the process, it didn’t take that long, and I got good response on it so far. I think I will try and make some more, maybe even see if I could get them to move on esty? Do you think they might sell?

“For the Birds”

Painting by John “Cornbread” Anderson

Around Back at Rocky’s Place proudly partners with The Bowen Center for the Arts in showcasing the work of 70 artists with approximately 200 art pieces on display the month of July.

You are invited to the artist reception on Sunday, July 12, 2009 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m at the Bowen Center. For more information, call Around Back at Rocky’s Place at 706-265-6030 or The Bowen Center for the Arts at 706-216-ARTS (2787).

3 of my ceramic bird pieces I made while I was in Cancun and my Odd Bird mask will be in this show. This the first exhibit I have taken part in since 2003 so I am very excited. And with the Canvas Project going up on July 31 I feel like a major shift in my artistic presence is starting.
