Canvas Project II

Little Canvases This weekend I got my 5 little canvases in the mail for The Art House’s Canvas Project Volume 2.  Though they are just the size they said they would be (3″ x 3″) I was surprised by how small they are. Though I have no problem creating tiny works on paper I’ve never worked so small on canvas. It is sure to be a challenge. I have thought about using some polymer lifts to help with the details but I’m not sure yet. The words I was assigned will be challenging too.

Luckily I have until July to think and sketch and figure it all out.

This image is based on a painting the main character in the book I’m writing made after a dream. I drew it small with a blue ball point pen in a lined journal, scanned it into photoshop and added large blocks of color. I then printed it out as enlarged tiles on a laser printer and pasted it to a piece of cardboard. I drew and painted on top of that. I have been working on it all week but I don’t think this is actually quite done. I will edit this post and add the finished image when it is indeed finished, which hopefully will be soon.
