SACKETS: Fun, Free & Functional
May 6, 2009 on 5:22 pm | In Craftsy | 2 CommentsFor the past year and a half or so I have been doing a craft night for teenage girls a couple times a month. I am always on the look out for projects that will pass the teenage girl “cool” test, be fairly simple, and not expensive when it comes to supplies. My favorite projects have been the paper maché ones, as that is what I’m best at, the supplies are incredibly cheap, and the results are always so cool. But this week I have a new project that I’m very excited about. The “sacket” (Sack/basket=sacket - Name thanks to my friend Jenn) pictured below is made from two clothes hangers and twenty-two grocery bags. Didn’t cost a penny, easy, fun, and who can’t use a basket? I’m hoping the girls will be as enthusiastic as I am.
I’ve spent a fair amount of time looking through other people’s blogs looking for cheap, easy projects that teens might enjoy and I’ve been surprised by how hard they are to find. If you have some ideas for other projects the girls might enjoy or would like to know more about the process of making the sackets, let me know.
